Alana Oravecz, LCSW
Life brings all of us unplanned and unexpected challenges. Who among us does not experience regrets, stress, anxiety, messy families and relationships, life transitions, disconnections, unresolved past experiences, and grief and loss? Recognizing the societal tendency to repress or avoid emotions, all of us consciously and unconsciously construct walls, patterns, beliefs, and barriers for protective survival. My counseling style incorporates elements of coaching and teaching, emphasizing personal safety, connection to your body, mindful presence, and compassion as essential components. Being heard and seen, learning and using new skills may support our movement to more satisfying lie experiences.
My curiosity fuels my exploration of cutting-edge modalities, seeking the most effective methods to empower myself and you toward a better quality of life. My work is shaped by a Person-Centered, wholistic, approach informed by Imago, Hakomi, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Albert Einstein and Dr. David Hawkins, curiosity, humor, intuition, my spiritual path, and life experience.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Mansfield State College and a Masters in Social Work from Bryn Mawr Graduate School. Beyond my academic education, I graduated from the Baltimore School of Massage, have years of experience in the Hendrix Imago model and Emotional Freedom Technique, and two years training in Hakomi Body-Centered Method.
