I’m so glad you’re considering engaging in the therapy process! Part of my role is to walk beside you in this journey. I value a collaborative approach to therapy and prioritize exploring and understanding the client’s experience as key to figuring out insights and solutions together. I integrate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems (“parts” work) and somatic/mind-body techniques into my therapeutic approach. I’ve completed Phase 1 of training for Brainspotting – a mind/body approach that is highly effective for addressing trauma and other “stuck” experiences. I’m always learning something new about therapy and I will try it myself first before I bring it into sessions!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and I completed my graduate work at Shippensburg University. I have experience working in community mental health including outpatient mental health treatment, a partial hospitalization program, and as part of a substance use disorder treatment program.  I primarily work with adults that are experiencing a range of concerns – depression and other mood disorders, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder, PTSD and complex trauma, eating disorders, substance abuse/recovery, grief and loss and self-esteem issues.  I’m a member of the American Counseling Association and a Nationally Certified Counselor.

“Things falling apart is a kind of testing and also a kind of healing.  We think that the point is to pass the test or to overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don’t really get solved.  They come together and they fall apart.  Then they come together again and fall apart again.  It’s just like that.  The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.” – Pema Chödrön
