Adam Grumbling, LPC
Over the past eight years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a multitude of diverse mental health settings - including residential, academic, medical, and community-based environments - supporting individuals across levels of care ranging from partial hospitalization to outpatient counseling services. My clinical background reflects extensive experience in the administration of both individual and group counseling, through which I help individuals navigate diverse life challenges and mental health needs.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Penn State University in 2018 and received my Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Millersville University in 2020. I obtained my professional counseling license in 2023. I have received extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which I use to address a wide range of diagnostic and symptomatic concerns. Additionally, I am trained in trauma-informed approaches that integrate both somatic and cognitive interventions to promote holistic healing. My most recent specialization is in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and related conditions.
I work with adults (ages 18+) and am passionate about supporting those navigating anxiety, trauma, and mood disorders. I also work with individuals managing chronic health conditions or physical disabilities, as well as young and emerging adults navigating identity development, life transitions, and the search for greater meaning in life. I aim to create a safe and supportive environment for all individuals, and I’m especially passionate about helping men overcome stigma and feel more comfortable seeking support for the unique psychological and sociocultural challenges they may face. I also provide couples counseling to help partners enhance communication, connection, and intimacy by exploring attachment patterns, love languages, and boundaries. When desired, I can also incorporate individuals’ religious or spiritual beliefs into counseling to enhance the utility of evidence-based treatment and more closely tailor services to each person’s unique values and worldview (faith-based counseling).
While my work is often grounded in structured, evidence-based modalities, I take an eclectic and flexible approach to therapy, drawing from a range of therapeutic techniques to best meet the unique needs of each individual I serve.
Above all, I strive to create a strong therapeutic alliance with every individual I work with, as I believe this connection is among the most important factors in achieving meaningful and lasting change through counseling.
