Caitlin Tice, MS, LPC

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Behavioral Science at Penn State University, and my Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Shippensburg University. I have over a decade of experience working in various mental health settings including school-based mental health services, child and adolescent therapy, college counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, and outpatient therapy with people of all ages.

I specialize in the treatment of adolescents and twenty-somethings.  My counseling technique includes Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Source Code Psychology (a counseling theory created by Dr. Sam Rader stating that most of our emotional patterns are created from the age of 0-5 years old), Polyvagal Theory, and Mindfulness. My approach has a strong emphasis on identifying strengths, empathy, and also the connection between the mind and body. Special interests include somatic work, incorporating nutrition for treatment of mental health concerns, and therapeutic art techniques.

Technique aside, research confirms that the counseling relationship is the most important aspect of therapy. I create an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance where clients can express themselves without feeling judged. For our counseling sessions, I will listen to you and work towards understanding you and your concerns with my full, undivided attention. When more guidance is requested, I will offer evidence-based counseling techniques and coping strategies. I am able to shift my approach as necessary to suit your needs.

I truly look forward to working with you!
